Dr. Amy Chi and Dr. Emily Allen lead Sapphire Family Dental with a shared belief: great dentistry should feel calm, clear and personal.
DDS · Doctor of Dental Surgery
Dr. Chi earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Minnesota's College of Biological Sciences and went on to dental school at the University of Minnesota. After receiving her DDS in 2008, she completed an elective residency at the Minneapolis VA Medical Center, where she was honored to serve Minnesota's veterans.
She has been in private practice for over 15 years serving Twin Cities families, continuing the tradition of exceptional care she carried forward from Dr. Derr. She was nominated a Top Dentist by Minnesota Monthly, and is a member of the American Dental Association, the Minnesota Dental Association and the Minneapolis District Dental Society.
Amy and her husband Erick live locally and are members of Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church. They love spending time with their children Annie and Jack, being outdoors, traveling, and relaxing with family and friends.
DDS · Doctor of Dental Surgery
Dr. Allen first studied bioproducts and biosystems engineering at the University of Minnesota–Twin Cities before completing her Doctor of Dental Surgery program at the University of Michigan. She loves transforming smiles and caring for the long-term dental health of our patients.
She is a member of the American Dental Association and the Minnesota Dental Association, and joined Dr. Chi as a partner in 2024 after practicing for several years in Saint Paul. Patients love her gentle touch, artistic skills and warm, clear communication — she recommends care that genuinely benefits them.
Dr. Emily grew up in Minnetonka and lives in the western suburbs with her family and their adorable dog, Asher. In her spare time she enjoys cooking, going for walks, skiing, and being outdoors.
We're deeply grateful to Dr. Robert E. Derr, who practiced in Eden Prairie for 44 years and was repeatedly named a Top Dentist before retiring in 2022, and to Dr. Steve Rzepecki, retiring in 2026 after nearly 50 years of remarkable dentistry and mentorship. Their legacy of personalized, comfortable care lives on in everything we do.
